Drivers should expect detours starting Wednesday on a stretch of McCoy Road in Upper Arlington.
The road will be closed between Longhill Drive and Mountview Road, so city crews can rebuild the McCoy Road bridge.
Westbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound lanes of Reed Road to westbound Fishinger Road.
Eastbound traffic from Riverside Drive will be diverted to Lane Road.
The bridge had deteriorating concrete and exposed, rusting support rods, officials said.
The work is expected to take more than a month to complete at a cost of about $330,000.
