Pataskala leaders say city crews will remove dying ash trees, but they will not replace them.
Three subdivisions are plagued by the Emerald Ash Borer, which is an invasive beetle species that kills ash trees.
Pataskala's mayor said that city crews will remove the dying or dead trees and their stumps, but city council voted to remove funding for ash tree replacement.
The Emerald Ash Borer was identified in Ohio in 2003. It kills ash trees within three to five years of infestation.
