Officials Release Name Of Woman Who Died in Delaware County House Fire

The name of the victim in the house fire that occurred at 1845 3B’s and K Road near Sunbury on Friday was released Monday.

According to a press release, the person was identified as Michelle T. Dixon, 48, with the help of her family, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin County Coroner’s office.

According to fire officials, the fire was reported at about 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Firefighters attempted to enter the residence, but the floor collapsed and they had to battle the flames from outside.

A resident returned home to inform fire officials that there may be someone inside. Firefighters then were able to locate a body inside the home.

According to the release, preliminary autopsy results indicate there was no apparent foul play. Toxicology is set to be performed.

The funeral arrangements for Dixon are being completed by the Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville.
