1 Dead, 1 Jailed After Ross County Crash

One person was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash along U.S. Route 50 west of Londonderry on Saturday.

According to Ohio State Highway Patrol officials, the crash happened at about 4 p.m. and closed eastbound U.S. 50 at mile marker 34.

The crash involved multiple vehicles.

Authorities said according to witnesses, 63-year-old Melvyn Woodard of Columbus attempted to make a left turn without yielding.

A motorcycle driven by 69-year-old Roger Seitz struck Woodard's vehicle.  Seitz was ejected from the motorcycle and struck by another vehicle.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said a passenger on the motorcycle was taken to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus by medical helicopter.

Woodard was taken to jail on outstanding warrants.
