Sheriff's deputies in southeast Ohio are trying to figure out how a suspected burglary suspect ended up shot to death in the woods behind a home.
Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly said no charges have been filed, although the county prosecutor's office recommended that the alleged shooter face charges in the Thursday incident.
The Athens Messenger reports that 34-year-old Keith "P.J." Rutter was shot after breaking into a home in Glouster seeking money. Kelly said shots were fired in the home, and Rutter was later found dead in the woods out back.
The county coroner said he died from a gunshot wound to his side.
The alleged shooter wasn't identified, but the prosecutor said he is related to the homeowner.
