One person was pronounced dead after a house fire in Delaware County on Friday.
According to fire officials, a fire was reported at 1375 3B's & K Road near Sunbury at about 2:45 p.m.
Firefighters tried to enter the home, but the floor collapsed and firefighters had to battle the flames from outside.
One of the residents returned home and said that someone might be inside.
Firefighters then located a body inside the home.
Neighbor John Griffith said he could see the flames shooting over the tops of trees.
"For somebody to die that way would be horrifying," he said. "Just knowing that tears me up."
The name of the person found was not immediately released.
The fire remained under investigation but was not believed to be suspicious.
Investigators say that fire was unrelated to another fire at nearly the same time Friday afternoon.
The second fire was located at Franklin Street and Central Avenue in the City of Delaware.
No one was injured.
Tri-Township, Elm Valley, Porter-Kingston, BST&G, Berlin, Delaware, Orange Township, Scioto Township, Liberty Township and Concord Township responded to the fires. Columbus fire also assisted.
