A FedEx truck struck a house in which a person was sleeping Tuesday morning.
According to fire officials, the driver sideswiped two vehicles and then hit the front of a house, located at Maize Road and North Broadway.
“I heard this boom, boom, boom, then I heard this clickety, clickety and I came out and looked,” homeowner Wayne Stewart said.
The crash happened around 10 a.m.
Officials said that Stewart was sleeping inside of the home at the time of the crash but was not injured.
He saw his living room in complete disarray and a gaping hole in his wall.
Fire crews said that they thought the truck driver may have had a seizure.
“The guy looked at me and then he fell back on the ground and he said ‘Can you get me some towels?’” Stewart said. “They said the guy’s nose was bleeding and when the police came he started kicking off his shoes.”
Children were playing in the area at the time of the crash but were uninjured.
Stewart said he had just rearranged his living room and was sleeping on the couch.
“I’m like God was telling me something because my couch was always over there,” Stewart said.
The driver was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
