Canal Winchester Upping Patrols To Stave Off Summer Crimes

UPDATED: Friday June 14, 2013 6:23 PM

Vandalism and thefts have been ongoing problems in Canal Winchester.

And the problems seem to spike in the summer.

Last summer, vandals targeted the skate park there.

Police say that type of crime happens more often when kids are out of school and home for the summer.

Police in Canal Winchester and the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office say they are increasing patrols to hopefully decrease crimes.

Residents can expect to see more officers in cars and on foot.

Police are also asking neighbors to watch out for suspicious activity and for parents to enforce curfew.
