Officers Say Man Refused To Stop, Struck Deputy’s Cruiser

A man who allegedly tried to elude an officer struck his cruiser while the deputy was still inside, according to court documents.

Court records stated that Tyshawn Lamonte Hines tried to get away from a Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy who tried to stop him in the parking lot of 2800 S. Hamilton Road on May 19.

As officers approached the vehicle, Hines put the vehicle in gear and struck the marked sheriff’s vehicle with the deputy still inside.

Hines then tried to flee and led officers on a pursuit that reached up to 99 miles per hour.

Hines is charged with failure to comply with officers’ orders.
