We are monitoring the potential for severe weather as a strong storm system heads our way. There could be two waves of severe weather. While it’s possible we could see a few showers and storms developing this afternoon, a round of severe storms could develop late this afternoon and early this evening north of I-70. These could be rotating storms capable of producing damaging wind, large hail and tornadoes. The second wave of possible severe weather heads our way overnight into Thursday morning with another shot at damaging wind, large hail and tornadoes. Gusty straight-line winds overnight could lead to widespread power outages.
We’ll be hot and humid today with highs near 90 and heat indices in the mid 90s. Highs will drop back into the upper 70s Thursday and Friday behind a cold front. Friday and Saturday will feature pleasant weather before another shot at storms heads our way Sunday.
