Central Ohio Crime Stoppers are looking to the public for help identifying suspects that are responsible for a burglary in the Gahanna area.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on June 8, a suspect forced open the rear door of a residence on Ashmead Drive. The home had an alarm, which went off after a set delay, according to Crime Stoppers.
Investigators believe the sound of the alarm shortened the amount of time the suspect was inside the residence.
Neighbors also reported that a small blue or black Chevrolet Cobalt had been parked in front of the residence, and that a thin 5-foot-6 white female, between the ages of 23-25, had walked up to the front porch. According to the report, a white male stayed near the car and acted as if it had mechanical problems.
Following the break-in, the victim’s credit and debit cards were reportedly used at area businesses.
A cash reward for any information that could lead to the arrest or indictment of the suspects responsible for the crime is being offered by Crime Stoppers.
Anyone with information is asked to call 614-461-TIPS or visit www.stopcrime.org to email their tip. Tips also can be texted to “CRIMES,” keyword CMH.
