The Columbus Public Health Department is taking steps to reduce the risk of West Nile Virus this summer.
The department said that crews have been responding to reports of standing water since May and treating them when necessary.
This month, they're starting to trap mosquitoes.
For the first time - Columbus Public Health will test the bugs for West Nile, a task that used to be handled by the state.
