The Licking County Sheriff's Office and the Franklin County Bomb Squad were called out to a Pataskala location on Thursday on a report of possible pipe bombs.
According to the sheriff's office, officials were called out to a location along the 6400 block of Watkins Road for an investigation.
A person who said she owned the property told 10TV News that her grandson was cleaning out a closet in one of the buildings on the property and found a bag of what he believed were pipe bombs shortly before 10 a.m.
According to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office, a previous tenant who recently vacated the property left behind miscellaneous property.
Sheriff’s officials said Thursday evening that during questioning, a person who used to live at the home admitted to assembling the pipe bombs 10 years ago when he was a juvenile. He said he had made them to detonate them on the property.
Three pipe bombs were detonated by authorities at about 12:15 p.m.
The roads around the home were closed for investigation.
Officials said the incident was still under investigation.
