A Mansfield church collected $500 for a Mansfield native who survived Monday's tornado in Moore, Okla.
The Stewart Road Church of God collected the money for Ken Rush, who lost his home in the twister.
"We were all just praying big time, because we were all scared that we would not make it through there," said Rush. "We did, and when I opened the door and saw all the devastation, the neighborhood completely gone, flattened, it's something that you just don't expect."
Rush also lived through the devastating tornado that struck Moore in 1999.
That storm destroyed his daughter's home.
Rush said that despite the tornadoes, he plans to stay in Oklahoma.
"It would be too much of a move for me," Rush said. "I'm 66-years-old. To move back to Ohio, of course I don't have anything to move back right now."
Rush said that he does know one thing for sure, his new home will have a tornado shelter.
