UPDATED: Sunday May 19, 2013 5:51 AM

Police in Worthington are trying to find out who is behind a series of thefts from automobiles parked in lots in Worthington.

On March 5, at 12:22 a.m. an old white four door Plymouth/Dodge Neon parked in the southwest parking lot of the Villa Nova restaurant located on N. High St. A white male suspect got out of the car and walked toward the front of the restaurant while talking on a cell phone.

After walking around the lot and looking into vehicles, the suspect removed something from his pocket and used it to shatter the passenger side window of one of the cars. The suspect removed a laptop, returned to his vehicle, and fled the area.

Another similar theft occurred on April 24 at 4:10 p.m. at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home. A briefcase was taken from the front passenger seat after the window was broken.

A witness reported seeing a small white four door vehicle with a white male inside leaving the lot during the timeframe.

Two other vehicle break-ins with nearly identical circumstances have been reported.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6 foot tall, 150 pounds, bald/close cut hair, clean shaven, in his mid-thirties, and wearing a light blue windbreaker style jacket with a white shirt and white athletic shoes.

A cash reward is offered by Crime Stoppers for any information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of the persons responsible for the crime. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 614-645-TIPS.
