The body of a Central Ohio man, was pulled from the Atlantic Ocean Sunday morning in Holden Beach, N.C.
Brunswick County Sheriff's Office confirms they found 21-year-old Kwesi Sample after five days of searching the Lockwood Folly Inlet. He had been missing since 5 p.m. Tuesday. Sample's family told 10TV News that authorities presumed him dead.
"It feels like it's a dream. A bad dream, but its reality. We're trying to hold on tight as a family to get through this," his father, Larry Cornish, said just after Sample was reported missing.
Sample was in North Carolina with a church group affiliated with the Xenos Christian Fellowship. He lived in Columbus.
Authorities say strong current water temperature in the low 60s may have contributed to the drowning.
Sample's body was sent to the Brunswick County morgue until the family can make arrangements.
