Woman Charged After Turning Herself In For Allegedly Stealing Purse

A woman is charged with three counts of theft and one count of robbery for allegedly stealing an elderly woman's purse.

According to the Zanesville Police Department, a woman was leaving the Walmart store, located at 2850 Maple Avenue, on May 14, when a woman approached her and grabbed her purse.

A woman, identified as Rachel Penrod, 22, of Roseville, ran from the scene with the purse and its contents.

Penrod turned herself in to detectives later in the day.

She is being held at the Zanesville City jail on 460,000 bond.
