The Memorial Tournament has released an amended policy for this year’s event.
According to the policy, cell phones and mobile devices are allowed, but must be in the silent mode.
The policy states that during the tournament, cell phone use is only allowed in designated areas to make calls. Phones can be used to access data by the cart paths.
The tournament states there is a zero-tolerance policy for breaking these rules.
Phones may be confiscated and returned at the end of the day for violation of the rules.
Tournament Director Dan Sullivan said there will also be a group of volunteers walking around the course to remind patrons of the rules.
