UPDATED: Tuesday May 14, 2013 1:54 AM

The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office launches a smartphone app Monday.

The app allows people to send tips to the sheriff's office, see crime alerts and wanted persons, and find out where sex offenders live. The app also shows residents booking information at the jail.

The app is a partnership with Appriss, Inc. It's call the Mobile Patrol App.

The app can be found by searching for Appriss in the app store or play store. Search for Ohio and Fairfield County.

The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office says it is the first agency in the state to make this kind of app and information available to residents.
