A Marion Harding High School English teacher was put on paid leave for allegedly leading inappropriate discussions about sex in the classroom.
According to 10TV media partner the Marion Star, a student allegedly recorded a video of the teacher speaking about sexual activity on a smartphone.
The student showed the video to the principal.
School superintendent James Barney said there’s evidence the teacher offered extra credit to students who participated in the discussion.
However, Barney said the school was investigating whether the extra credit was given for another legitimate reason.
School officials were working to determine if the video was authentic.
A teacher’s union representative was also contacted.
