A resident of the city's near east side described on Saturday how his car has been repeatedly vandalized.
Kevin Ulrich said he has had to replace windows in his car three times since moving to N. Monroe Ave. nine months ago. The most recent incident occurred the morning of May 5.
"There was all kinds of glass, debris, they opened up my console and dumped everything out of there," Ulrich said.
Ulrich said several of his neighbors have also had their cars broken into during his time living there.
"I can't believe that someone will actually take the time and actually vandalize someone's car to try to get something out that they may not get anything," said Ulrich.
He said the crimes have not been limited to smashing into cars. Ulrich said his 11-year-old son's bicycle was stolen off of their front porch.
My son, when he's with me, that's my number one priority. Coming to him and telling him that his bike got stolen is frustrating," Ulrich said.
He said he was not going to take chances with the safety of his son, and would be moving at the end of May.
Ulrich blamed the crimes on heavy foot traffic between E. Broad St. and E. Long St.
