No Threat Found After Bomb Squad Called To Mansfield Islamic Center

The Ashland County bomb squad was called to the Islamic Center in Mansfield Friday afternoon around 3 p.m.

After sending in a robot, officials determined that a suspicious item was a piece of luggage that posed no threat.

A black briefcase was reported at the facility on the corner of West Fourth and Mulberry streets.

A number of employees from the Mansfield News Journal and one family in the area were evacuated.

Police and fire personnel blocked off parts of West Fourth and Mulberry streets as well as Fifth and Mulberry streets during the investigation.
