UPDATED: Wednesday May 8, 2013 12:14 PM

A young man is charged with aggravated arson after allegedly setting a relative's deck on fire.

Court documents stated that Osman J. Sesay, 19, was late for his curfew at a home in the 5400 block of Cedardale Drive in Westerville.

Sesay's relatives would not let him inside of the home because he was late for curfew, and at about 10:30 p.m., the teenager called police.

Police arrived, and no one answered the door at the home.

According to court documents, Sesay left and returned at about 1 a.m. and set fire to a plastic bag, tennis shoes, a plastic sign and a lawn chair to try to get the occupants' attention.

One of the people inside the home came out and extinguished the fire, and Sesay ran into the home.

Sesay admitted to setting the fire, authorities said.

He was held in jail on Wednesday on $75,000 bond.
