UPDATED: Wednesday May 8, 2013 4:29 PM

The Licking County Sheriff's Office was called to remove a student who allegedly assaulted a school van driver on his way home from Eagle Wings Academy in Jacksontown.

According to the sheriff's office, the student started kicking the dashboard, door and windows of the van and then hit the driver with a backpack.

Deputies ended up taking the child to school because the van driver was concerned for the safety of other students in the van.

It was unknown if the child would be charged.
