Students at a Knox County elementary school were taken to another building after a man was seen entering, but not leaving, the school building on Tuesday morning.
According to Knox County Sheriff's officials, a man was seen entering East Knox Elementary School around 7:10 a.m. He was observed by a staff member.
Surveillance video showed the man entering a classroom and the boiler room.
On Tuesday afternoon, the school released a statement that the man was in the building conducting routine water testing.
Staff said that they would take measures to make sure that workers check in with the office every time they are on campus.
Officials said that they did not believe there was a threat, but students were evacuated to East Knox Middle School, where parents were allowed to pick up their children.
Sheriff's officials brought in officers and K9 unites to sweep the school, because the man was not seen on surveillance video leaving the building.
