A Columbus man is facing charges in connection with allegedly beating and robbing another man who was interested in buying a television.

Andre Ellison, 51, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated robbery.

According to court documents, Tony McAfee arrived at a location on East Rich Street on April 16 in hopes of buying a television.

The couple said that Ellison and two masked suspects beat McAfee and stole his wallet, cell phone and keys.

They allegedly demanded McAfee drive them to his home for more money. McAfee broke free and ran, and one suspect shot him in the calf.

A woman with McAfee drove him to the Ohio State University Hospital East, where police said the couple both identified Ellison as the suspect through a photo array.
