State Officials Surveying Rockslide Damage

UPDATED: Wednesday May 1, 2013 10:28 AM

State Route 329 remained closed on Wednesday while officials surveyed the damage left by a rockslide Tuesday night.

At least two homes were damaged by a rockslide in Trimble in Athens County. The Red Cross is helping the families who live there.

The slide started Tuesday evening. Chopper 10 captured video of some of the boulders as they fell, crashing into a home and car port.

Resident Tabatha Huddy said the rocks falling sounded like “a bomb going off.”

Officials said they were also keeping a close eye on a cell phone tower that is perched on top of the hill.
