City Attorney's 'Fugitive Of The Week' Wanted On 17 Charges

Authorities are searching for a man whose criminal career spans decades, according to the Columbus City Attorney's Office.

The City Attorney Richard Pheiffer Jr. announced on Wednesday that Stanley Edwards is the department's "fugitive of the week."

Edwards is known to have at least three different aliases, five different social security numbers, six different dates of birth and 60 felony and misdemeanor charges.

He also is known as Arnett Edwards or Nolan Williams.

The department said that Edwards is thought to be 55-years-old and is wanted on a total of 17 charges, including eight counts of theft.

In 1978, Edwards was sentenced to two to 15 years for felonious assault involving a pipe. Authorities said he immediately re-offended and was sentenced to seven to 25 years for aggravated burglary.

After being paroled in 1988, Edwards was charged in 1990 with grand theft auto and was sent back to prison.

Since 2002, Edwards has had 38 criminal cases filed against him in Franklin County.

His latest charges are for allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars worth of Similac, Enfamil, Advil and Beats by Dre headphones.

"About the only positive thing I can say about Mr. Edwards is it looks like he may be mellowing out in his old age, as he has gone from stealing cars, breaking into houses, and attacking people to stealing mostly baby formula," said Assistant City Prosecutor Bill Hedrick.

Anyone with information about Edwards' whereabouts is asked to call Hedrick at 614-645-8874.
