Columbus police and the Capital Area Humane Society are investigating after someone left a dying rabbit on a car door handle.
J.P. Bahantka says he stepped outside his home in the Quarry Pointe neighborhood this morning to find a rabbit hanging on his car.
The rabbit was barely breathing when it was discovered.
"It's absolutely horrific," said Bahantka. "Who would do such a thing?"
Bahantka says he called Columbus police and officers did take a report.
The animal eventually stopped breathing.
The Capital Area Humane Society is also investigating, trying to determine how the animal died.
"This is terrible," said Kerry Manion, chief humane agent for the humane society. "We are going to perform a necropsy.”
