Columbus Reveals Bike Sharing Brand

The city of Columbus revealed the name of the city’s bike sharing program will be called CoGo Bike Share.

“Officially naming our city’s bike share system is a fun milestone in a project that is progressing rapidly,” said Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman. “Station locations are being assessed, pricing structures are being calculated and, soon enough, program memberships will be on sale.”

The bike sharing program will be coordinated with Alta Bicycle Share.

Benjamin Coifman, a Columbus resident, submitting the winning name of the program.  The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department hosted an online contest to solicit possible names. 200 people entered the contest.

CoGo Bike Share will consist of a network of 300 bicycles and 30 stations throughout downtown Columbus. People can purchase access to bicycles for short trips. Bikes can be returned to any station with the network.
