Clerk Attacked With Corkscrew After Stopping Attempted Robbery Of Wine Bottles

A man is facing charges after a drive-thru clerk says he was one of two men who attacked him with a corkscrew.

Shaindo Dajon Pirtle has been charged with aggravated robbery.

Police reports indicate that Pirtle allegedly attacked a clerk at the Schrock Road Drive-Thru on Schrock Road in north Columbus.

According to the clerk, Pirtle was confronted after he tried to steal several bottles of wine Tuesday morning around 12:30 a.m.

The clerk says Pirtle left and returned with another man.

The men struck the clerk in the face with a corkscrew, and threatened to shoot him.

According to police, Pirtle admitted to the assault but claims he blacked out afterwards.

The other person involved in the attack was not named in the police report.
