Columbus Police say no officers were injured in a shooting on S. 17th Street. 10TV has a crew at the scene.
A judge has sentenced a man to 28 years in jail for abducting, kidnapping, and raping a 64-year-old former co-worker last February.
Rickey Allen Dye, 51, was convicted of rape, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, abduction and two counts of kidnapping.
Dye blamed the woman for getting him fired from the homeless shelter where they both worked.
The victim, now 65, asked the judge to impose the maximum sentence. Dye could have been put behind bars for 55 years.
Dye's previous convictions include aggravated robbery and kidnapping in Lake County and a Virginia case in which he robbed and stabbed a store clerk.
After his release, Dye will be required to register as a sex offender every 90 days for the rest of his life.
