Auditor Accused Of Skipping Work Submits Resignation After Watchdog 10 Investigation

UPDATED: Monday April 22, 2013 5:22 PM

The Ontario City Auditor submitted her resignation after a Watchdog 10 investigation into her work habits.

Watchdog 10 obtained a copy of Jane Hammond's resignation letter.

Hammond is accused of skipping work and keeping a light schedule.

Ontario's mayor, Larry Collins, said that city workers were concerned about her work habits, noting that she only worked about three hours each week.

She has collected nearly $10,000 in taxpayer dollars since the beginning of the year.

The Watchdog 10 investigation also showed that Hammond spent part of her time at a Licking County RV dealership's finance department.

In Hammond's resignation letter, she stated that her last day will be May 31.

Hammond previously submitted a resignation letter in December but later revoked it.
