Ohio Dominican Race To Honor Boston Marathon Bombing Victims

UPDATED: Friday April 19, 2013 3:01 PM

Victims of the Boston Marathon bombing will be honored Saturday during the Ohio Dominican University Alumni Panther 5K Run and Walk.

The first annual run is scheduled to take place on April 20 on ODU’s main campus in east Columbus. A moment of silence will be held before the event begins and a “Run for Boston” banner will also be held.

“This experience has touched so many lives, and with our race occurring less than a week after the bombings at the Boston Marathon, we feel compelled to show our support for the victims of this tragedy and the entire city of Boston,” said Ann Snider, ODU’s director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. “We’re excited to welcome alumni back to campus to share in our effort of showing support.”

More than 100 people are expected to participate in the event.
