Columbus Police are working to identify humans remains found in northeast Columbus Friday afternoon.
According to Columbus police, the remains were found behind East Linden Elementary School, located in the 2500 block of Brentnell Blvd., around 4 p.m.
Investigators said children playing in the area found the bones in a wooded area behind the school.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene because it was unknown if foul play was involved.
Six years ago, Violet Taylor said her son disappeared in the area and still hasn't been found.
"I hope it is him because, so I could let it go. I hate to say that. I never gave up hope." Taylor told 10TV's Jason Frazer.
Police said they believed the bones had been there for some time because the bones were badly decomposed.
