Child Struck By Car On Sixth Birthday

A child was seriously injured when he was struck by a car in Chillicothe Thursday evening.

Police said the child was struck at Warner Avenue and East Main Street.

"I just heard a big thump and ran out there just tried to keep telling them to keep it still because I knew the mom was hysterical." Serena Pollen said. She witnessed the accident.

Christian Keller's family said they were gathered for a birthday party when the 6-year-old ran into the street after a ball.

"It just happened so quick." said his sister, Barbara Huston. "It just breaks your heart."

Christian was flown to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.

Keller's family said he suffered facial and leg injuries when he was struck head-on by the car.
