A fire destroyed a home east of Centerburg in Knox County on Thursday morning, and the homeowners suffered burns in the blaze.
The blaze was reported on the 2600 block of Larimore Road around noon.
Fire investigators said it was a modular home that burned to the ground.
The couple, whose names were not released, was airlifted to a burn unit in Columbus. The extent of their injuries was not known.
According to the fire chief of the Central Ohio Joint Fire District, when firefighters arrived the home was completely engulfed.
Several of the couples’ dogs that were in pens outside had to be rescued.
Neighbor Nicole Berger said she saw the flames from her home and got into her car to see if she could help.
“I saw flames coming out of the windows and the whole roof was on fire," she said.
Investigators said fire appears accidental, but investigators from the state fire marshal’s office were called in just to be sure.
No other injuries were reported.
It took four different fire stations to battle the blaze.
