Columbus Police say no officers were injured in a shooting on S. 17th Avenue. 10TV has a crew at the scene.
Lakeview Junior High School in Pickerington was briefly locked down on Tuesday because of an alleged threat.
According to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, a student overheard another student say he brought a gun to school and that he was going to shoot students.
The school superintendent, Rob Walker, said that the school immediately went under a Level 2 lockdown at 11:35 a.m. All doors were locked and hallways were emptied.
A student was located and questioned.
Sheriff’s officials questioned the student and found that the comments were taken out of context, but because of fears following the Boston Marathon bombings, students were on heightened alert.
The student as not deemed a threat.
