Teays Valley HS Cleared After Student Wrote Bomb Threat On Wall As Part Of Dare

UPDATED: Friday April 12, 2013 5:26 PM

A Pickaway County high school was evacuated Friday afternoon after a bomb threat was discovered on a bathroom wall.

Authorities say a 16-year-old wrote the message after a dare from another student.

Teays Valley High School was evacuated around 1:30 p.m. when the message was discovered.

It read "bomb 4-12-13, get out."

The student has since confessed and admitted that it was part of a dare. The student is being charged with inducing panic.

The school reopened later Friday, but after-school activities were canceled.

Authorities said this is the first bomb threat at the school in quite some time.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded and searched the school as a precaution.
