Attorney General Announces Lawsuit Against Pickerington User Car Dealership

UPDATED: Friday April 12, 2013 1:06 PM

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced a lawsuit against a Pickerington use car dealership and its owners for multiple violations of Ohio’s consumer laws.

The dealership is Dads Car Lot Inc., which is owned by William D. Taylor Sr. and Gary Jones.

"Buying a car is a major purchase for most consumers and they rightly expect to be treated fairly according to the law," DeWine said. "Businesses must fulfill their promises to consumers, and if they don't, we will take action."

DeWine’s office has heard dozens of complaints against the dealership, citing issues with title certificates, repossession, misrepresentation and repairs and services, according to the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

According to the DeWine’s office, the business failed on many occasions to provide buyers with receipts listing terms of sales.

The lawsuit charges Dads Car Lot with Consumer Sales Practices Act and Certificate of Motor Vehicle Title Act violations.
