Police are investigating a deadly double shooting in east Columbus that claimed the life of a father of four children.
Officers were called to Eldridge Avenue on the near east side around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.
When they were arrived, they found two people shot.
William T. Stubbs, 32, died at the scene.
William's uncle, 46-year-old Thomas Stubbs, was rushed to Grant Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
"They were all sitting there talking with this guy, and he left to go outside said he was getting something out of his car and then he came back inside and started shooting," said Gina Scott, the victim's aunt.
Thomas Stubbs suffered a gunshot wound to his arm. He told 10TV that if he saw him, he could identify who the person was that shot and killed his nephew.
Thomas said the gunman did not hesitate to make himself at home in their residence.
"He came in, (and) he went in and out of my house twice," he said.
Neighbors told 10TV that they heard the gunshots and witnessed a man walking to a car and driving off.
Family members said that William was a great guy who loved his kids.
"This is going to be a great loss for our family, for the children," added Scott.
