Man Accused Of Smashing Into Sunoco To Steal Cigarettes

A man already accused of armed robbery is now facing charges for allegedly smashing through a window at a Sunoco station to steal cigarettes.

Andre L. Johnson is accused of breaking and entering at 4840 Sinclair Road Monday just before 1 a.m.

According to police, Johnson smashed a window at the location and ripped down a cigarette rack, attempting to steal several packs.

A witness attempted to detain Johnson, but the alleged thief fled the scene. Authorities arrested Johnson at a nearby hotel.

Johnson has been accused of several other crimes in the past.

He allegedly committed two armed robberies on March 22.

On March 23, police said he also damaged a washing machine and dryer that did not belong to him.

A judge set several bonds for Johnson on Tuesday, totaling $250,000.
