Former Mayor Convicted On 21 Counts, Including Rape

The former Mayor of Stockport in Morgan County was convicted on eight counts of gross sexual imposition, seven counts of sexual battery and six counts of rape.

According to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, former mayor Michael Shane Shuster was convicted on all 21 counts on Monday.

A special prosecutor from the Ohio AG's Crimes Against Children Unite was assigned to the case, according to the AG's office.

Shuster faces 25 years to life for each of three counts of rape of a juvenile under 13. The other charges include sentences between six months and 11 years.

He is expected to be sentenced in May.
