Columbus Police say no officers were injured in a shooting on S. 17th Street. Get the story.
The county's branch of Habitat for Humanity set a goal to open a home improvement product store called a ReStore on June 1 to help support its homebuilding mission.
The ReStore idea already used by other Habitat chapters accepts new and reusable, donated materials from home remodeling projects, excess story inventories, scratch and dent items, and other sources.
"It's like a home improvement store, except a used home improvement store. It benefits the community because people can get these items at reduced prices. Doors. Windows. And it helps because a lot of these items end up in the landfill," volunteer Tom Skinner told the Marion Star.
The Marion County organization also decided to offer anyone who would purchase early gift certificates a chance to win two tickets to an Ohio State University football game this fall, along with a parking pass.
Buyers will receive one chance in the drawing for every $10 in gift certificates purchased before the store opens.
To arrange a purchase, contact Habitat for Humanity of Marion County at 740-383-2007.
