Rescuers found a missing Ohio family safe after their airboat trip in the Florida Everglades on Friday afternoon.
Authorities used airboats and helicopters to search a remote area of the Florida Everglades for a family of five from Ohio that has not returned from an airboat trip.
The family launched their boat Thursday. Authorities said they searched more than 1,000 square miles in the Everglades and a wildlife management area.
The area had thunderstorms and rain Thursday and Friday.
The family has been identified as 44-year-old Scott Schreck; his 42-year-old wife, Carrie; and their three young children.
Their hometown was not immediately available.
