Fairfield County Forming Dangerous Wild Animal Response Team

Fairfield County officials are starting to form their Dangerous Wild Animal Response Team.

The state decided to require all 88 counties to form such committees after the 2011 exotic animal release in Muskingum County.

Each committee must have at least eight members including a law enforcement official, a person trained in first aid and an exotic animal owner.

Counties must submit the names of committee members to the state by July 1.

The state intends to approve each county's plan by July 2014.
