Bomb Squad Robot Determines Suspicious Package Was Lunchbox

The Columbus Bomb Squad responded to a report of a suspicious package located outside of a financial institution in west Columbus Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to CitiFinancial at 3025 West Broad St. around 3:50 p.m.

CitiFinancial was evacuated during the investigation into the suspicious package.

The Columbus Bomb Squad robot picked up the package and determined it was a lunchbox and that it was not a threat.

Witnesses said that they saw someone leave the lunchbox between two buildings.

All the roads were reopened at about 5 p.m.
