A man will spend 90 days in jail and five years on community control for attacking his neighbor with a garden hoe.
According to the Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office, 72-year-old Kenneth Terry attacked his neighbor, who he accused of leaving grass clippings on his property in May 2012.
Terry attacked his neighbor with a garden hoe while he was riding his riding mower. His neighbor’s nose and glasses were broken, the prosecutor’s office said.
The man also was ordered to pay his neighbor more than $1,000 in restitution, a $500 fine and court costs.
The terms of Terry’s probation prevent him from doing yard work at his home for the next five years, the prosecutor said.
Terry was charged with felonious assault.
