Counties Back Online After 911 Phone Outage

UPDATED: Thursday March 28, 2013 7:14 PM

A number of central Ohio counties that experienced the loss of their 911 phone services on Thursday were back online Thursday evening.

Officials in Marion, Guernsey, Noble, Muskingum and Delaware counties said they couldn’t receive 911 calls between about 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The problem stemmed from a widespread phone outage through Frontier Communications.

Officials said at about 6:25 p.m. that they had identified the issue and were working to resolve it.

A number of counties reported being back online as of about 7 p.m.
