Police responded to Columbus State Community College on Thursday morning after a report of a stabbing.

According to police, the report was taken along Spring Street near Columbus State’s Nestor Hall at about 10:30 a.m.

Police said that a 26-year-old man was stabbed on the west side, near West Broad Street and Yale Avenue, and then took a bus to Columbus State.

COTA officials said there was no indication that the man was stabbed on a bus.

A witness said the man went to a bathroom on the second floor of Nestor Hall on the Columbus State campus.

"A man was in there trying to clean himself up because he was bleeding, but my student is a fireman, and so he was helping and then called the police. The young man said that he got stabbed on Broad Street and that he took a bus over here to Columbus State, went up on the second floor of Nestor and started trying to clean himself up," said professor Margaret Harris.

Police said the man was stabbed in the left arm.

The condition and name of the person involved were not immediately released.
